Memorial Day 2011...From Lex's perspective
It's FUN to go on rides! But it's also fun to be IN CONTROL of the ride. Lex really loved our trip to StoryLand in Glen NH. He got to drive his own antigue car (purple) . Then we all rode together in the tractor that Lex got to drive us around the farm! It's cute how the ride has real and fake vegetation.
Before we went out to the farm ride, we started our day by taking a train ride around the entire park to see all the places we would be playing.
There were 3 trains we rode that day...the red, the green and the blue. It picked us up at YumYum Junction...
Then we rode past the Oceans of Fun where I got to go back and get really wet and squirted!
It took us around a pond where we saw a Mommy duck and her ducklings swimming.
Here I am on the train like a big boy! Mommy didn't pack my stroller.
My Daddy played with me in the Loopy Lab with balls that suctioned up in vaccuums and then we got to shoot them out like cannons!
See these Dutch Wooden Shoes? And see that part of a Roller Coaster?? I went on both of those rides with my Mom!
Driving up from Rhode Island to New Hampshire and back, we saw MOUNTAINS! Lex Loves Mountains and squelaed with joy announcing them each time he saw them..and the RIVERS too! He is definitely his Mama's boy!
We LOVED New Hampshire and Cannot wait to go again very soon!~

First Vacations!
I guess I like shorter Blogs...I want to journal Lex's Vacations since we are a family who loves to travel. Even on a ridiculously tight budget we have managed to give our children opportunities to travel far and wide to experience things. It is enriching for all of us. I am proud of Lex for being not only a good little traveller but also for having some destinations under his belt before he even turned 3.
In December of 2009, for the occassion of his sister Annika's 9th Birthday, we visited Walt Disney World Florida. It was our 2nd Family Visit but Lex's first. On our first Trip in December 2005, we flew to Florida but with Lex we drove. It was 2 days to drive in each direction but it was a wonderful road trip. We departed at 1am on the Friday of that week. We putn the kids in the car figuring they would doze off but I guess they were so excited that they were awake for over 4 hours...they stayed awake as we drove from RI, through CT, NY and into NJ. They feel asleep on the Turnpike. I can't blame them for that because the NJ Turnpike is a dreadful 2 hour drive. We lulled them to sleep with some CD's I brought of lullabies for kids. They also had their DVD player for the ride which they used a lot...mostly Annika with her Barbie movies.
This trip was brought to us courtesy of a 1994 Dodge Caravan, Green in color. We travelled with ease in the van, it was so comfortable. Annika had a good setup there as you can see. Lex had a great view!!!
Driving gave us plenty of Family-Bonding opportunities. We stopped at South of The Border in SC.
Our Hotel at WDW, our favorite Hotel even if we have actually never stayed at any of the others, is the Pop Century Resort. It is a Value Resort. I got excellent rates for the week. We visited the parks for 5 days on this trip, which is enough time.
CLASSIC LEX in this last picture. Sadly we lost this hat while we were there. I loved that hat.
In 2010, August, we went on another Road Trip Vacation as a family. This time, we wanted to travel closer since 4 days on the road was a lot. We chose to vacation in New Hampshire instead. We stayed at Gilcrest Cottages while we visited Lincoln and Glen NH. It was Great. we visited StoryLand, Clarks Trading Post and Franconia Notch State Park.
We had a wonderful time.
In September we spent the day in Cape Cod walking Hyannis, eating in Yarmouth, visiting Museums.
It was September 11th 2010. This was our last Road Trip before the Van's Timing Belt blew. We are planning our next adventure but in a different vehicle of course. Our car now is small and gas efficient...not exactly a luxury ride so we are looking at day trips or maybe a revival of New Hampshire.

MOLARS!
Apparently all the drooling and misery recently has been due to Lex's 2yr/3yr molars coming in.
Yesterday he gave 'em hell...today he is cheerful and silly.
We have been watching Utube videos of Children's music like :
The Alphabet Song
Mary Had a Little Lamb
5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Lex's Favorite Bedtime/Naptime Routine:
Reading his "Directions" (instruction pages for Thomas the Train
Reading his "This Little Train" book
Reading books about Trucks
Mommy singing to him
Lex's Favorite Bedtime/Naptime songs:
Hush Little Baby
Rock-a-bye Baby
You are my Sunshine
Lex's Favorite Tv Shows:
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the Disney Channel
Thomas and Friends on PBS
Little Einsteins on the Disney Channel
Jake and the Neverland Pirates on the Disney Channel
Lex's Favorite Movies:
Alvin & The Chipmunks, part I and II
Little Einsteins Movie
Toy Story I and II
Ice Age III dawn of the Dinosaur
CARS!
Tangled
Lex's Bedroom Decor over the years:
Lex was born in May, so I was home with him the summer of 2008...we had some fun that summer. Our first family trip with him was to Edaville Railroad that July.
Ok, so HE is missing from this picture...LOL
Notice the train at the back of the lake lined up nicely in the picture?? HAHAHA...not an accident!
Ok, weird note...I am wearing those same pants right now and I NEVER wear them!!!
We also went to the Blueberry Farm that Summer.
Annika sure looks young there.
LEX's Personality...
Lex is sometimes very quiet and watchful and then he springs to action. At 3 years old he is dealing with plenty of outrageous behavior but overall he is a sweetheart of a boy who loves his family and friends and is developing right on track as he should. I LOVE him...I think I'll keep him.

Three Year Old!
Lex is my 3 year old son. He just turned Three in May. I Love having a 3 year old boy! I love having my boy in general. He lights up my day with his sweet face and his silly laughter. I could not adore him anymore than I do. He is my LoveBug.
"Lex" is a nickname....he is named after his father but I really adore calling him Lex. My son has cute quirky ways. He likes to fall to the floor...he also likes to climb on everything. Lex is a good boy. He enjoys riding his Big Wheel bike, His push cars, his 2-wheeler with Trainers, his motor-operated dune buggy. Lex loves playing in the sand and also every playground he can find. He makes up silly words like "wona", and uses them to tease people. He has comic timing for a young kid! Lex is cute in person but when you snap his photo he nearly always squints which ruins the picture.
Lex loves his family and we Love him!
